Minor rugby uses law modifications to ensure age appropriate skill acquisition and safety.
U7-U9 play flag rugby. Modifications include no set piece (scrums or line-outs), no contact (rucks, mauls, tackles), no kicking, smaller playing field, fewer players.
U11 play introductory contact. Modifications include 3-person line-outs and scrums, fewer players, and a smaller playing field.
